Start with what one customer is worth
Price times gross margin is what a paying customer leaves you each month, before any commission.
Enter your price, margin and commission, then your own guess of how many customers affiliates bring. The calculator shows revenue, commissions, the Komissio plan and what is left over the first 12 months.
Gross profit from 72 customers that 20 affiliates bring in a year
An estimate from your own assumptions, not a forecast. Komissio prices are real plan prices.
| Item | Month 1 | Month 6 | Month 12 | First 12 months |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Paying customers | 6 | 32 | 55 | |
| Revenue | $180 | $954 | $1,655 | $11,761 |
| Gross profit (80% margin) | $144 | $763 | $1,324 | $9,409 |
| Commissions to affiliates (20%) | -$36 | -$36 | -$36 | -$432 |
| Komissio Starter | -$49 | -$49 | -$49 | -$588 |
| Left over | $59 | $678 | $1,239 | $8,389 |
Gross profit is revenue times margin. What is left is gross profit minus commissions and the plan price. Cancellations reduce every earlier group of customers each month. One-time orders leave out repeat purchases.
The calculator does arithmetic you can check by hand.
Price times gross margin is what a paying customer leaves you each month, before any commission.
While the commission is paid, it comes out of that margin. The rest is what the customer adds for you.
Divide the plan price by what is left per customer and round up. That is how many paying customers a month the program needs to pay for itself.
Each month, affiliates bring the number of new customers you set. For subscriptions, earlier customers keep paying minus the share who cancel. Revenue times margin gives gross profit. The calculator then subtracts the commission, only for the months you choose, and the Komissio plan price, and adds it up over 12 months.
From you. How many customers affiliates bring depends on your product, your audience and how you recruit, so there is no honest default. Start low: in most programs a few affiliates bring most of the sales and many bring none.
It is gross profit after commissions and the Komissio plan. It does not include your other costs, such as support, payment fees or taxes.
Starter supports flat and percentage commissions on the first payment for up to 50 active affiliates. Commissions paid on renewals, tiered rates and clawbacks are part of Growth, so the calculator switches to Growth when you pick them.
For affiliates, it divides everything you paid in 12 months, commissions plus plan fees, by the customers affiliates brought. For ads, it uses the cost per customer you enter. With recurring commissions the affiliate cost keeps growing while customers stay, so compare over the same period.
